How To Check The Splines On Your Tap Valves

We often get asked how to count the number of splines on your tap valves. It’s really easy and we suggest 2 ways:

Mark down one by one the grooves with a pen and carefully count round with your fingernail OR take a photo with your phone looking down on the spline (so it looks like a star) and then expand the image so you can then count the number of teeth.

The most common size is 20 teeth but the valves can have 18, 24 or 28 so it is really important to check this otherwise your handles won’t fit!
